Jodi Tyler is a Provisionally Licensed Professional Counselor (PLPC) with experience working with individuals and families across a variety of clinical and community settings. She holds a Master of Science in Psychology, a Master of Arts in Marriage and Family Therapy, and is currently completing her Ph.D. in Counseling Psychology at Louisiana Tech University.
Jodi brings a unique breadth of experience to her clinical work, including a decade of services in child protective services and foster care, as well as experience in private practice, university counseling services, intensive outpatient treatment, community-based mental health services, and with the VA Medical Center. She works with adults experiencing concerns such as anxiety, depression, life transitions, relationship difficulties, trauma-related concerns, emotional regulation difficulties, and longstanding patterns that may be interfering with well-being and relationships using a whole-health perspective.
Her therapeutic approach is integrative and individualized. Jodi helps clients explore how past experiences, relationships, and family-of-origin patterns may influence their present lives while also incorporating practical, evidence-based strategies drawn from cognitive-behavioral and skills-focused approaches. She strives to create a therapeutic environment in which clients feel comfortable being open and vulnerable while also being appropriately challenged to develop greater insight, healthier patterns, and meaningful change.
Jodi views therapy as a collaborative process and believes that understanding where our patterns come from can be an important part of deciding what we want to do differently moving forward.
