Jill Waltemate
Executive Director

Jill Waltemate is the owner and Executive Director of the Center for Counseling and Psychological Resources. Her vision for the Center is to bring together talented clinicians of various expertise who will foster, challenge, and inspire people to live well.

Originally from Claiborne Parish in Athens, Louisiana, Jill graduated from Louisiana tech with a BA in Sociology and an MA in Counseling. She started her career as a school counselor in Webster Parish and worked for 9 years as the Safe & Drug-Free Schools Coordinator. As the coordinator, Jill worked to offer and oversee full-time school-based mental health services to students throughout the parish. This led to her assisting numerous school systems implementing and supporting school-based direct mental health services at more than 20 schools throughout Louisiana over the past 10 years.

Currently, she is a member of both the North Louisiana Behavioral Health Advisory Council, the Northwest Louisiana Suicide Prevention Coalition. Jill also works closely with Louisiana State University as the Conference Co-Chair for several local prevention conferences. In addition to this, she is a Prevention Consultant for Louisiana and Alabama’s State Targeted Response to the Opioid Crisis Initiative. Jill is the Project Director for the Mental Health Awareness training grant, funded by the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administrations. This grant provides mental health and crisis response training and resources for local active duty military and veterans and their families, as well as first responders, firefighters, and law enforcement.
